He made the donation in his address at the Swearing-in Ceremony of the Corps Members held at the Temporary Orientation Camp in Government Secondary School, Maiduguri.

He said his administration places high priority on the security and welfare of the Corps Members, therefore, he would continue to sustain his positive gesture to the Scheme.

Governor Zulum enjoined the Corps Members to utilize the opportunities of the three weeks Orientation Course to settle down in their host communities and contribute their quota to the development of Borno State.

Speaking through the State’s Head of Service, Barrister Mallam Fannami, the Governor urged the Corps Members to serve as agents of national unity and development and also strive to win prizes for excellent performances during service.

He commended the founding fathers of NYSC adding that the usefulness of the Scheme outweighs it’s challenges.

The NYSC Borno State Coordinator, Adamu Jiya said the Corps Members have adjusted to camp activities.

He lauded the State Government for its commitment towards the success of NYSC activities, especially since the resumption of Orientation Courses in the State.

“A total of 824 Corps Members comprising 489 males and 335 males were registered.

They will be exposed to the various history, culture and traditions of Borno people, including leadership and citizenship training, drills as well as skill acquisition and entrepreneurship deployment among others”, the Coordinator said.

While addressing the Corps Members after their swearing-in ceremony, the NYSC Director General, Brigadier General YD Ahmed, who also witnessed the ceremony warned them against embarking on unauthorized and night journeys.

He advised that they should learn the culture of their host communities and integrate with them.
