NIGERIA CUSTOMS SERVICE HAILS ASSISTANT COMPTROLLER OGBORU’S HISTORIC MOTORBIKE EXPEDITION TO BELGIUM.

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has applauded the outstanding feat of Assistant Comptroller of Customs, Akpevwe Ogboru, popularly known as Tracta 2, who successfully completed a 35-day solo motorbike expedition from Nigeria to Belgium. She arrived at the Nigerian Embassy in Brussels at exactly 12:47 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2025, drawing admiration for her courage, resilience, and purposeful advocacy.

Covering a distance of approximately 10,265 kilometres across two continents and ten countries, Ogboru began her journey on August 1, 2025. Her daring ride undertaken under the theme “Ride for Women Inclusivity and Cross-Border Research” spotlights the importance of gender inclusivity, amplifies girl-child empowerment, and advances conversations on cross-border connectivity, mobility, and cultural exchange.

Her reception at the Nigerian Embassy in Brussels was met with jubilation, underscoring pride in her remarkable achievement and the resilience of Nigerian women breaking barriers worldwide. The journey, according to the Service, is more than an endurance test; it is a beacon of inspiration for officers, Nigerians, and the global community.

As Ogboru prepares for her return journey to Nigeria, her accomplishment reflects the NCS’s support for initiatives that promote resilience, innovation, and inclusivity. The Service recognises the significance of her symbolic adventure in projecting a positive national image, strengthening bilateral ties, and reinforcing Nigeria’s leadership in advancing women and children empowerment.

The Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, on behalf of officers and men of the Service, commended Assistant Comptroller Ogboru for her bravery and urged Nigerians to draw inspiration from her trailblazing effort. He reaffirmed that the Service remains committed to fostering an environment where such bold initiatives thrive, contributing not only to institutional progress but also to the advancement of national values.
