NIDCOM CONGRATULATES DR. AYODEJI AMOBONYE ON GLOBAL STANFORD RANKING

 

The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has applauded Dr. Ayodeji Amobonye Emmanuel, a Nigerian scientist, for being named among the world’s top two per cent of scientists in a global ranking published by Stanford University in collaboration with Elsevier.

In a statement issued in Abuja, the Chairman/CEO of NiDCOM, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, commended Dr. Amobonye for his outstanding achievements, urging him to continue breaking new ground in scientific research and innovation.

Dr. Amobonye, a Biotechnology expert, was recognised for his significant contributions to global scientific knowledge and impact. He earned his Ph.D. at the Durban University of Technology in South Africa, where he also lectured and conducted research. He is currently a Research Fellow at Kaunas University of Technology, Lithuania.

The Stanford ranking highlights researchers whose published works have made the greatest impact across 22 scientific fields and 174 subfields.

Dabiri-Erewa described Dr. Amobonye’s recognition as a reflection of his dedication, excellence, and commitment to advancing global knowledge in Biotechnology, a field she noted is vital to addressing modern challenges.

An alumnus of the Federal University of Technology, Minna (B.Sc.) and the Federal University of Technology, Akure (M.Sc.), Dr. Amobonye also previously served with NAFDAC before pursuing his international research career.

NiDCOM hailed him as a beacon of excellence and a true ambassador of Nigeria, whose achievement elevates the country’s profile in the global scientific community and serves as an inspiration to young scientists at home and abroad.
