President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Customs Service, Dr Adewale Bashir Adeniyi, as he marks his 60th birthday, praising his leadership and sweeping reforms at the Service.
President Tinubu says Dr Adeniyi’s tenure has repositioned the Nigerian Customs Service into a more efficient and globally competitive institution.
He notes that the reforms under the Customs boss have strengthened revenue generation, improved trade facilitation, and enhanced border security.
The President also highlights Adeniyi’s election as Chairman of the World Customs Organization in 2025, describing it as a major recognition for Nigeria and Africa on the global stage.
Tinubu commends the adoption of international best practices, including automation, digitization, and the Authorized Economic Operator Programme, which have reduced cargo clearance time and deepened partnership with traders.

As he turns 60, President Tinubu wishes the Customs Comptroller-General good health, strength, and continued service to the nation.
