Growing recognition from both government and traditional institutions has further strengthened confidence in the leadership of Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, as the Ooni of Ife points to President Tinubu’s public commendation as proof of the impact being recorded under the Customs boss.

At the annual Eid-el-Kabir gathering hosted by the Comptroller-General in Modakeke, Osun State, the Ooni of Ife described Adeniyi’s leadership of the Nigeria Customs Service as transformational, saying his achievements in public service and community development have brought pride to the Ife Kingdom and surrounding communities.

The monarch noted that the President’s public expression of satisfaction with the Customs leadership reflects growing trust in the reforms, operational successes, and strategic direction of the Service, describing Adeniyi as a leader whose influence continues to bridge institutions, communities, and national interests.

Addressing traditional rulers, political leaders, senior Customs officers, community stakeholders, friends, and associates at the gathering, the Comptroller-General said Eid-el-Kabir symbolises sacrifice, service, and shared responsibility toward nation-building.

Adeniyi highlighted major gains recorded by the Nigeria Customs Service in revenue generation, trade facilitation, anti-smuggling operations, technological advancement, and social interventions, stressing that the Service remains committed to driving economic growth, strengthening national security, facilitating legitimate trade, and supporting the Federal Government’s reform agenda.

He reaffirmed Customs’ commitment to professionalism, transparency, operational reforms, and community-focused initiatives, pledging sustained efforts toward building a more efficient Service capable of delivering greater economic value and national impact.
