CDS REASSURES KATSINA LAWMAKERS OF MILITARY’S COMMITMENT TO SECURITY

 

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, on Friday received a delegation of National Assembly members from Katsina State at the Defence Headquarters, Abuja. The team was led by Senator Abdulazeez Musa Yar’Adua, Chairman, Senate Committee on Army.

During the visit, the lawmakers commended the Armed Forces of Nigeria for their sacrifices in defending the country and particularly in tackling insecurity in Katsina State. They also paid tribute to fallen troops, describing their efforts as heroic and invaluable.

The delegation briefed the CDS on the security situation in Katsina, urging further deployment of troops and military assets to address emerging threats in the state.

Responding,  the Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher  Musa thanked the legislators for their support and pledged continued collaboration with the National Assembly to strengthen nationwide security operations. He disclosed that the military has adopted new tactics and strategies aimed at restoring peace and stability across the country.

 

The visit, according to Defence Headquarters, highlights the joint commitment of the Armed Forces and the National Assembly to safeguarding Nigerians against insecurity.
