CONGO ARRIVES NIGERIA AHEAD OF AFRICAN U18/U20 ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS.

With just four days to the start of the 3rd African U18/U20 Athletics Championships, the Democratic Republic of Congo has become the first country to arrive in Nigeria for the highly anticipated event.

The Congolese contingent touched down at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, in the early hours of Saturday, signaling the official commencement of arrivals for the continental showpiece scheduled to hold in Abeokuta.

The team was warmly received by the Local Organising Committee (LOC) protocol team, led by Head of Protocol, Arabirin Aderonke, who assured that preparations are in top gear to welcome delegations from over 40 participating nations.

The 5-day championship, which runs from July 16 to 20 at the MKO Abiola International Stadium in Abeokuta, will feature Africa’s finest young athletes competing for honors in various track and field events.

The National Sports Commission has reiterated its commitment to hosting a world-class event, with all LOC subcommittees tasked with delivering excellence across the board.
