CUSTOMS CGC EID MESSAGE: ADENIYI URGES UNITY, SACRIFICE AS CUSTOMS BOOSTS ECONOMY

The Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, has called on Nigerians to embrace sacrifice, unity, patience, and patriotism as Muslims across the country celebrate Eid-el-Kabir.

Speaking after observing Eid prayers at the Modakeke Eid Ground in Ile-Ife, Osun State, the Customs boss said the lessons of Eid remain vital for national growth, peaceful coexistence, and stability.

He described Eid-el-Kabir as a period of reflection, reminding Muslims of the virtues of obedience to Allah, sacrifice, and service to humanity as demonstrated by Prophet Abraham.

Adeniyi said the celebration should go beyond festivities, urging Nigerians to embrace values that promote peace, unity, and national development regardless of religious or ethnic differences.

He called on citizens to remain law-abiding and continue supporting national progress through patience, discipline, and respect for the rule of law.

The Customs boss also expressed satisfaction with the performance of the Nigeria Customs Service, saying ongoing reforms are strengthening revenue generation, trade facilitation, anti-smuggling operations, and export growth.

According to him, the Service remains focused on supporting economic growth and national security in line with the economic policies of President Bola Tinubu.

Adeniyi added that increasing export activities and operational reforms show that the Nigeria Customs Service is on track toward achieving its economic and security objectives.
