NSC MOURNS FORMER PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI, HAILS HIS LEGACY IN SPORTS DEVELOPMENT.

The National Sports Commission, NSC, has joined millions of Nigerians in mourning the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, who passed away on Sunday at a clinic in London, United Kingdom.

In a solemn statement issued in Abuja on Monday, the NSC described Buhari as a symbol of discipline, patriotism, and unwavering commitment to national service.

Chairman of the Commission, Shehu Dikko, praised the late President for recognizing the power of sports as a catalyst for national development.

He recalled that one of Buhari’s final acts in office was signing the National Sports Commission Act 2023 on May 28, a landmark decision that revived the commission as a statutory body.

Also paying tribute, Director General of the NSC, Hon. Bukola Olopade, described the late President’s support for sports as both impactful and enduring.

The Commission extended its heartfelt condolences to the Buhari family, the Federal Government, and the Nigerian people.
