TEAM NIGERIA HEADS TO CHILE FOR WORLD PARA-POWERLIFTING CHAMPIONSHIPS.

Team Nigeria will depart for Santiago, Chile, this week to compete in the 2025 World Para-Powerlifting Championships, scheduled for August 11–18.

The squad, made up of the nation’s top para-powerlifters, is aiming to extend Nigeria’s dominance in the sport.

Director General of the National Sports Commission, Hon. Bukola Olopade, praised the athletes for their dedication during training and urged them to bring glory to the country.

Nigeria’s strong record in previous championships has raised expectations for another medal-winning performance. Officials say the trip underscores the Tinubu administration’s commitment to para-sports and empowering differently-abled athletes to succeed internationally.
