WAEC GLITCH: MINISTRY OF EDUCATION CONFIRMS FIX, MOVES TO SAFEGUARD EXAM INTEGRIT

The Federal Ministry of Education has confirmed that the technical glitch affecting the 2025 WASSCE results has been fully resolved, with updated results set to be available within 24 hours on the WAEC result checker portal.

According to the Ministry, the glitch occurred during post-release processing in subjects where paper serialization was newly introduced to curb exam malpractice.

The Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa, after being briefed on the situation, commended WAEC for its swift action and transparency.

The minister, reaffirmed his commitment to exam integrity, announcing that both WAEC and NECO will begin a phased rollout of computer-based testing from November 2026, starting with the objective components of major exams.

Dr. Alausa emphasized that protecting exam integrity is essential to preserving the future of Nigerian students, maintaining global academic credibility, and assured stakeholders that all efforts are being made to build a fair, reliable, and secure exam system for all Nigerian students.
