IBOM LNG, STATE GOVERNMENT SEAL NDA TO BOOST GAS INVESTMENT PROSPECTS

The Ibom liquefied natural gas Logistics Base Limited has signed a  Non-Disclosure Agreement with the Akwa ibom state government to boost  energy footprint in the country.

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Ibom LNG and Logistics Base Limited, Chief Jimmy Ntuen, said , The agreement, signed in Uyo, underscores a renewed push to unlock gas infrastructure development, deepen private sector participation and fast-track industrial growth anchored on the state’s abundant gas resources.

The representative of the state government , Managing Director of Akwa Ibom Investment corporation ,  Imo Abasi Jacob, described the NDA as a strategic move to strengthen investor confidence and accelerate economic diversification. He said the collaboration would open the door to critical financial and technical partnerships across the energy value chain.

Under the arrangement, Ibom LNG will advance collaborative studies for a proposed mini LNG plant with a processing capacity of 100 to 150 million standard cubic feet of gas per day, alongside a logistics base and port facility at Akpabom in Onna Local Government Area. The project will be sited on 35 hectares within the Liberty Oil and Gas Free Zone, a 50,215-hectare industrial corridor offering incentives and export access. Long-term plans project expansion to an export-oriented facility handling up to ten million tonnes annually, a move analysts say will strengthen Akwa Ibom’s position in Nigeria’s gas export market and complement the state’s broader gas commercialisation strategy.

The agreement will provides a stable framework for the company’s long-term investment plans and reinforces its commitment to Akwa Ibom as a gas development hub.
