The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security says it is strengthening collaboration with the Central and West African Virus Epidemiology Project to combat crop diseases and boost food security in the country.
Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Aliyu Abdullahi, stated this during a meeting with a WAVE delegation in Abuja.

The Minister described the partnership as strategic, stressing the need for stronger plant health surveillance and effective response mechanisms against emerging crop diseases threatening agricultural productivity.
He disclosed that the Ministry plans to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with WAVE to deepen collaboration and support evidence-based agricultural policies.
