Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno has reechoed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s directive that governors should work on interventions that will cushion the effect of the fuel subsidy removal on the citizenry.
The Governor made this known after paying a congratulatory visit to the President at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Governor Umo Eno’s visit to the President is to congratulate him on the election and his swearing-in and to pledge the support, commitment, and loyalty of Akwa Ibom state to the President and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He however highlighted several interventions being distributed across local governments in Akwa Ibom state to alleviate the suffering of the people as a result of the subsidy removal.
The Governor called for a strategic partnership with the federal government to help fast-track the completion of the Calabar-itu road amongst other projects in the state.
Governor Umo added that there are lots of things expected from the federal government which can only be achieved through cooperation, hence, the need to work together at all levels and achieve the common good to bring the dividends of democracy to the people.
