NIGERIAN ARMY REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO TROOPS’ WELFARE AS PHDL ENGAGES MEDIA.

The Nigerian Army has reiterated its commitment to improving the welfare of its personnel, with particular emphasis on providing affordable and quality housing.

This assurance was given on Monday during an interactive media parley hosted by the Post-Service Housing Development Limited (PHDL) at its corporate headquarters in Abuja.

Speaking at the event, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of PHDL, Major General Isaiah Allison, said the initiative is in line with the vision of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General OO Oluyede, to build a well-motivated and combat-ready force.

He explained that the Affordable Home Ownership Option for All Soldiers (AHOOAS) remains the flagship programme designed to provide housing solutions for soldiers both in service and after retirement.

“The media are critical stakeholders in communicating our efforts to the public, and we count on you to ensure accurate information dissemination,” Allison stated.

The parley provided a platform for open engagement between the Army housing agency and journalists, aimed at strengthening transparency, building trust, and promoting civil-military relations.

PHDL reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining affordable housing delivery in line with the COAS’ philosophy of prioritising the welfare of Nigerian Army personnel.
