OHANAEZE OYO CONDEMNS SCHOOL ABDUCTIONS, BACKS MAKINDE, DEMANDS SWIFT RESCUE

The Oyo State Chapter of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has condemned the abduction of pupils, students, and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area, describing the incident as a brutal attack on education, peace, and human dignity.
In a statement jointly signed by its President, Okechukwu Nwabunike, and Executive Secretary, Promise Aja, the group expressed deep sympathy to the affected families and communities, describing the attack on Yawota and Ahoro-Esinele as a barbaric assault on innocent children and educators.
Ohanaeze also denounced the killing of mathematics teacher, Michael Oyedokun, describing his murder as a cruel and disturbing reminder of the ruthless nature of the kidnappers.
The group said the mass abduction poses a serious threat to security, education, and social stability, urging security agencies to intensify efforts to secure the immediate release of all victims and bring the perpetrators to justice.
Throwing its support behind Governor Seyi Makinde, Ohanaeze commended the administration’s commitment to protecting lives and maintaining security, while calling for stronger community policing and enhanced safety measures around schools to prevent future attacks.
The organisation further urged residents to support ongoing rescue efforts through credible intelligence, warning against actions capable of compromising security operations.
It also called on Nigerians to unite against insecurity and pray for the safe return of the abductees.
