NO PLAZA DEMOLISHED

The Federal Capital Territory Administration has responded to a viral video on social media platforms claiming that a plaza in Abuja had been demolished.

The FCTA, in a Statement by the Director of Press, Office of the FCT Minister, Anthony Ogunleye, states that the video is misleading and was actually recorded two years ago in 2021.

The building featured in the video was not demolished, but rather had a portion removed to address an infraction related to its use.

The FCTA has provided a current photo of the building to demonstrate that it is still standing. The FCTA condemns the spread of false information and the ethnic bias attached to the videos.

The Statement emphasized the importance of verifying information from reliable sources before sharing it reassuring that the FCTA remains committed to transparent communication and responsible governance.
