CAS SUMMONS THEATRE COMMANDERS, CHARTS NEW COURSE FOR SMARTER, HARDER AIR STRIKES.

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, has directed Air Component Commanders across all operational theatres to intensify precision air operations and deliver smarter, harder, and more decisive strikes against insurgents, terrorists, and criminal networks threatening Nigeria’s peace and stability.

Air Marshal Aneke gave the directive  during a strategic meeting at the Nigerian Air Force Headquarters in Abuja, which brought together operational commanders from across the country. The high-level session was aimed at recalibrating the Force’s operational posture and strengthening inter-service coordination under the new NAF leadership.

Addressing the commanders, the Air Chief stressed the need for agility, precision, and intelligence-driven warfare in ongoing and emerging operations.

“We must fly smarter and strike harder — not only to neutralize threats but to protect the lives and property of Nigerians. Every mission must reflect professionalism, purpose, and patriotism,”
he declared.

He underscored that the evolving security landscape requires close synchronization of air, land, and maritime operations for joint mission success. “Our operations must be intelligence-led, coordinated, and focused. We will continue to work closely with sister services and other security agencies to ensure a united front in the fight against terrorism and criminality,” he added.

Air Marshal Aneke reaffirmed his commitment to improving personnel welfare, capacity development, and operational effectiveness. He noted that innovation, technology, and continuous training would remain central to enhancing mission success.

“Every airman and airwoman has a role to play in achieving our collective vision. I will ensure you are equipped, trained, and motivated to deliver results,”
he assured.

The CAS also emphasized that the Nigerian Air Force remains committed to supporting the government’s vision for national security while maintaining discipline, humanity, and professionalism in all operations.

He charged the commanders to translate strategy into decisive action, sustain operational tempo, and ensure that every sortie delivers tangible results.

“The safety and confidence of our citizens are our mission success indicators. Nigeria is counting on us — and we will not fail,”
he stated.

The meeting reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s resolve to protect the nation, strengthen inter-agency collaboration, and bolster public and international confidence in Nigeria’s counterterrorism efforts.
